The library is the heart of the KNIR. The original interior from 1904, the impressive book collection in open arrangement and the magnificent view over the garden make the library an exceptionally pleasant place for study and reflection.
Our library has an extensive collection in the core areas of the institute: antiquity, history and art history. We have an active acquisition policy, which keeps the collection up to date. In addition to the collection, the library staff are a source of information as well. They know everything about the books available at the institute and have valuable contacts and extensive knowledge of the collections of other educational institutions in Rome.
