Indirizzo mail: francis.karsten@ru.nl

Università: Radboud University Nijmegen

Francis obtained her bachelor’s degree in History of Art at the Radboud University and her master’s degree in Art, Market and Connoisseurship at the VU Amsterdam. During both degrees she has focused her research on the patronage of individuals and religious institutions in early modern Italy. As a PhD candidate at the Radboud University, she is now researching the significance of the visual arts in early modern Clarissan convents in Northern Italy. She is eager to learn more about her own interest in the Italian Renaissance, as well as the diverse range of research topics discussed in the interdisciplinary community at the KNIR. Her experiences as a student and bursary at the institute have shown her the value of the academic community and research facilities that the institute has to offer. As one of the ambassadors, she is excited to share her enthusiasm and advice with students. She is always available to help students discover the many possibilities of the KNIR.
