Sapienza University of Rome
Online-Internship: Digital Field Survey Archaeology
Period at KNIR:
Flavia is a MA student in Archaeology at the Sapienza university of Rome. She obtained her Bachelor degree in European Pre- and Protohistory Archaeology in 2019. Her thesis focused on the Bronze Age settlement of Torre Castelluccia (Pulsano, TA), in Puglia, South Italy. Besides Bronze Age Puglia, she is interested more widely in social interactions in protohistoric communities in the Mediterranean. From June 2020 onwards, she participates in the internship Digital Field Survey Archaeology at KNIR. Within the FASTI Online Survey project, she will focus on digitized survey data from the region of Puglia. Her tasks include collecting and digitising survey data informing us about settlement in ancient Apulia. She will contribute to the integration of these datasets in the online FASTI platform, in order to make them openly accessible to researchers and the wider public alike. Also, she will promote FASTI Online Survey to incentivize crowdsourcing.
