Internships

The KNIR not only offers courses, but also gives Master’s students the opportunity to gain experience in (research)practice in Rome. We regularly offer internships so that you have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects of our staff or in a project with one of our Italian partners. Examples include analysing archaeological material in the archaeological lab, digitalising a special archive, helping to set up an exhibition in a museum, processing large datasets collected with drone technology or unlocking a part of the library collection.

As an intern at the KNIR, you will stay for free at our institute and receive an expenditure allowance of €70 per week during the internship period and a one-off compensation of €100 for travel expenses.
An internship lasts an average of 10 to 12 weeks.
