Building

The Institute is housed in a listed building on the Via Omero near the Villa Borghese city park in Rome. The premises, which are owned by the KNIR, house a large library, offices and other work areas and guest accommodations.

Voorzijde

The KNIR library and offices are on the ground floor. On the first floor there are reception rooms for lectures, symposiums and cultural events.

The mini-apartment and the directors apartment are also situated on the first floor.The mini-apartment is self-contained, and is usually made available to fellows, guest lecturers or people invited to participate in KNIR activities.

In the basement there are classrooms for small groups and ‘De Lage Landen’ Foundation has its lending library of Dutch and Flemish literature there.

The second floor is designed to accommodate students and has 10 rooms and spacious shared facilities.
