bibliotheek_nwsl The library of the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome has a collection of circa 60.000 volumes which pertain chiefly to the archaeology, history and art history of Rome and Italy. There are also special sections dedicated to  the relationship between the Netherlands and the Vatican, the archaeology of Pompeii, protohistory of Latium, ancient technology, and a small section on the cultural history of the Netherlands.

The library is open to the public from Monday to Friday 9:30-12:30; 13:30-16:30. In the month of July the library is open on appointment only. The library remains closed in August and on Dutch and Italian holidays.
